Project title: Freelance Consultant Senior Direct Procurement (m/w/d)

Location: Remote, onsite in Budapest if needed

Tasks:
Secure and Sustain Direct Material Supply
Ensure uninterrupted supply of direct materials for API manufacturing and R&x;D activities, safeguarding production and development continuity

Category Management and Strategic Procurement
Manage assigned direct material categories through detailed spend analysis, supplier segmentation, opportunity identification, risk management, and execution of negotiations to strengthen supplier relationships and improve procurement performance

Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the primary escalation point for material supply issues, while working proactively with Legal, R&x;D, Regulatory Affairs, QA/QC, Sales, and Global Product Supply teams to address needs and implement timely solutions

Supply Chain Risk Mitigation and Performance Monitoring
Contribute to maintaining OTIF (On Time In Full) targets by anticipating risks, resolving supply bottlenecks, and driving preventive actions in coordination with suppliers and internal functions

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
Ensure that all procurement activities are fully compliant with GxP standards and local/international laws, supporting audits and regulatory expectations as required

Global Category Expertise and Strategic Advisory
Independently manage global stakeholder needs for assigned categories, delivering strategic input for procurement decisions beyond local territories and fostering a globally aligned sourcing strategy


Qualifications:

Proven experience in Direct Procurement within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or highly regulated industries

Strong category management expertise with focus on Direct Materials for API production

Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills

Fluent English; additional language skills (e.g., Hungarian) are a plus
